Brandon Marlon
Brandon Marlon is a playwright, screenwriter and poet from Ottawa, Canada. He studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York, received his B.A. in Drama from the University of Toronto in 2000, and has since performed in Toronto and Montreal, with his plays having received development in Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa. His script The Bleeding Season won the 2007 Canadian Jewish Playwriting Competition. His poetry has been published in Canada, the U.S., and Israel in various publications including The Canadian Jewish News, Streeteaters, Poetica, Yalla Journal, The Bulletin, Soul Fountain, Voices, Emunah and Voices Israel. He recently released two poetry volumes, Inspirations of Israel (Xlibris, May 2008), followed by Judean Dreams (Bayeux Arts, September 2009). Brandon also served as Company Manager of Odyssey Theatre, a professional mask- and movement-based summer theatre company performing in downtown Ottawa, and graduated from the WUJS Institute’s Arad Arts Project in 2007. He presently divides his time between Canada and Israel.
